Harlech Triathlon

Harlech, Gwynedd, North Wales

Harlech Castle, Harlech, United Kingdom

Sun 14th April 2019

Starting at 08:00

Organiser's Description

Welcome to the new home of the Harlech Triathlon! This is one of the most stunning and best loved events on the UK triathlon calendar - the classic community tri, now powered by Always Aim High Community Events.

Everything you love about the Harlech Triathlon will return better than ever in 2019, including the Triathlon and Duathlon - a hugely popular race featuring the same stunning cycle route as the triathlon, but sandwiched between two great little run routes, with the famous 'Storm the Castle' finale, and even the free bacon butties at the finish line.

The Triathlon begins with a 400m swim in Harlech swimming pool; following this is a 21k cycle and an impressive 6k run, which finishes with the 'Storm the Castle' fianle. This is one event you will not want to miss!

How To Get There

By train: Harlech railway station is served by the Cambrian Coast Line, with passenger services between Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Barmouth, Machynlleth and Shrewsbury. Most South bound trains continue beyond Shewsbury to and from Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International.

The venue is a 6 minute walk from the railway station.

By car: the venue is just off the A496, a major coastal and mountainous road in southern Snowdonia.

Parking

Race Day car parking has been included in your entry fee. Parking for athletes is available on the Rec by transition and is the Official Event Car Park. Follow signs to here once you enter Beach Rd. Please park considerately as there is limited space. No cars will be permitted to leave this car park until 12pm

As the field is on reclaimed land, if the weather is wet, it may not be possible to allow large vans to enter the field as they will become stuck.

Spectators will need to use the appropriate Pay and Display facilities when parking, in car parks on Beach Road and in Upper Harlech.

Council wardens are likely to ticket poorly parked vehicles as they present a real risk to the safety of all competitors.
