Mont Blanc Marathon

Date & Location

Chamonix, France

Organiser’s Description

Three days of trail running centred around the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley. The Mont-Blanc 80k has become legendary, with 6000m of climb it is remote, difficult and beautiful. The 42k Marathon follows a beautiful trail that traverses the Valley, through villages too numerous to mention, and, with a vertical climb of 2511m and 1490m of descent, it is known to be one of the most difficult marathons to finish. The 23k run climbs steadily, crossing the magnificent Charlanon comb, to an eventual altitude of 2000m. Each of these 3 runs offers one of the most beautiful views of Mont-Blanc. A 10k gives runners a taste of trail running through a Winter cross country skiing route; the Vertical KM is an Alpine race against the clock, not recommended for those with vertigo! There's also a kids' Mini Cross. 24-26 June.
