Who doesn’t love a list? These are our pick of the best events from beginner triathlons to the toughest 10k’s.
For 25 years until 2001 this was THE off-road event, with runners coming from near and far to complete this beautiful but challenging race. Foot and mouth caused its cancellation in 2002, but its now in the second year of it's regeneration, and its 26th running! The route follows the road out of Hay, crosses open fields and tracks, climbs Betwys Dingle, then follows country lanes, climbing steadily, before a steep climb to the top of Dysgwilfa Hill, with panoramic views and an easy run down to Gladestry. The ultimate climb to the top of Hergest Ridge is amazing, and once at the top it's a glorious 4 mile run before dropping down quickly to the finish in Kington. Total climb 2,500ft over 14.5 miles.
