Organiser's Description

A multi-terrain race on an undulating route through the beautiful woods and countryside overlooking Pangbourne, in Berkshire.

The race will start and finish on the playing field at Pangbourne Primary School. The route is mainly undulating and will be fine for beginners. Watch out for the cheeky hill at around mile 1! Also official children’s races.

All profits from the Pangbourne 10k will support valuable initiatives for the children of Pangbourne Primary School. These include new ICT equipment, playground improvements and sports clubs/facilities.

An unsecured tent will be provided for competitors to leave personal effects at their own risk.

There will be a water station at the 5k point, and sports drinks and water at the end of the race.

How To Get There

By train: Pangbourne is a beautifully picturesque village on the Great Western Main Line. There's a 60-minute journey to London Paddington twice an hour (from Platform 2), with access to Reading, ten minutes away, and Oxford, 30 minutes down the line (from platform 1). Pangbourne station is at the edge of the village centre, with all of the village's amenities well within walking distance.

By car: From the North: Take exit 15A from the M1 onto the A43, then get onto the M40 from the A43 at Junction 10. Leave the M40 at Junction 9 and follow the A34 into Chilton. At the roundabout take the A417 towards Reading, then follow the A417/A329/A340 to Pangbourne. Pangbourne can easily be reached from the M4 from the East and West, and from the A33 through Reading from the South.

Parking

Pangbourne village has plenty of car parking.

Race Day

Please enter the School from the main front entrance and follow the signs to the check-in desk, which will be at the entrance to the playing field, behind the School buildings.

The race starts at 10.30am and will be run under UK Athletics rules. Please report to the check-in desk in good time. The check-in desk will open at 9.30am.

You will need to collect your race number and timing chip on the day of the race. The collection point will be at the entrance to the School playing field, behind the School buildings, and will be open from 9:00am.

There will be a coffee bar, cold drinks, cakes and snacks

Amazing raffle prizes available to win, all donated by local businesses. Bring your cash as well as your running shoes!

Spectators are welcome on the School field. The last 200m of the race will be visible to all spectators as the entrants run through the centre of the field to the finish. Noisy supporters at the finish are strongly encouraged!

Course Details

The race will leave the Sschool field, turn right along Sulham Lane and then up into Sulham Woods, following woodland tracks and then out onto open marked fields.

Watch out for the cheeky hill at around mile 1! The route is mainly undulating so will be fine for beginners. The route then returns back to the School field to the welcoming cheers of the spectators.

A nice race for begginers. It was first time participated a race, this route is nice chance for beginners. I run through woods, who found it beautiful experience. Also organizers were always kind and ready to provide details for event. Strongly recommend this race to people you want run.
