the bike

24.2km

Undulating but forgiving bike course with a suburban start till you are out on the open roads of Cheshire taking in the villages of Ashley and Mobberley. There are a couple of cheeky climbs to keep you honest but nothing that would overly worry novice / experienced athlete alike. Back to the Leisure centre for the Run

the run

After a quick change you are on the run which takes you down the lovely Bollin Valley. Nothing too steep, nothing too flat, mixed terrain but most trainers will be suited to this environment. Really enjoyed this event. Well organised. The flexible swim start worked well. Transition area straight forward. Cycle route clearly marked & well Marshall. The 2 lap run route was good for spectators, the steps on the bridges were challenging. Good weather & friendly helpful staff. One thing I did notice if you're racing at the end of the event it looked a bit grim , ie few people there & staff were clearing away. Ps the showers in the leisure centre were nice & hot. All in all a great day.

My first triathlon, amazing experience well organised and everything signposted well, friendly marshals. Piloted a new running course this year - wasn’t the biggest fan doing 4 laps, also a lot of steps over bridges which I appreciate was for our safety but would be better if a similar route without steps could be sorted. Otherwise amazing thank you!

Smooth and stress free event. I was a bit worried beforehand as my name didn’t initially appear on the start list but once I arrived on the day everything went very smoothly and it was well organised with good signage on the bike and run and plenty of marshals especially on the run. Bit disappointed about the lack of t-shirt or goody bag but I suppose the goody bag is a lot of extra plastic so it’s probably a good move. Also like the fact that parking is nearby and plentiful. Will definitely do it again, knee permitting.
