Etape Du Tour - Morzine

Morzine, France

1 Place de l'Église, 74110 Morzine, France

Sun 10th July 2016

Organiser's Description

The most famous sportive in the world, the Etape du Tour is a must on ever sportive rider’s palmares. The 2016 route is stunning, covering 4 classic Tour de France climbs and finishes in the pretty town of Morzine.
A day of 4 long climbs, 3 long descents, 3 short flat sections and a technical descent to finish. The Etape this year is very backloaded - the first two climbs are comfortable and steady with gradients staying between 5 and 7%. Following a long descent comes a 4km climb to the 14km long Col de la Ramaz where things start to get punchy. The hardest test of the route comes with the last climb - the Joux Plane averages nearly 9% for 11km. Over the summit is a quick and technical descent to the finish line in Morzine.
