Tissington Trail Half Marathon - Saturday

Ashbourne, Derbyshire

Old Hall Cottage, Yeldersley Ln, Ashbourne DE6 1PJ, UK

Sat 8th October 2016

Organiser's Description

The race returns for a 5th year, having establishing itself as a real favourite with those who have taken part. The Trail is surrounded by beautiful countryside and the site of a former railway line, so traffic-free and ideal for a cracking half marathon. The route is slightly downhill, so you've got gravity on your side for virtually the whole of the course! A rare opportunity to run in Derbyshire without uphills! Events Saturday and Sunday.

Great traffic free run for a pb. Did this race for the first time in 2018 and thoroughly smashed my personal best. The race is slightly downhill and does lack supporters but seems well organised with buses transporting participating runners to the start. The finish line is a bit of an anticlimax and lacks the feeling of a organised race however I can't suggest how to improve this unless the course is shifted to finish at the sports centre in Ashbourne
