Organiser's Description

The race starts and finishes at the glorious and famous Wimbledon Common next to the Rushmere Pond in SW19.

Make sure you don’t miss this opportunity of running through the streets of Wimbledon. The race start is 09:00 and is very accessible by car and public transport. The race has a great vibe and is well supported by some local organisations.

All runners will receive a medal for finishing as well as loads of goodies at the finish including water, juices, fruit and a chocolate bar! We use the latest Chip Timing technology so you will get an accurate finishing time. The results are posted as soon as you cross the finish line!

We will have a free baggage drop facility for you to use. This area will be cordoned off but we do advise against storing any valuables as we can’t be held responsible. Toilets will also be provided at the start/finish area. An official race photographer will be in attendance around the course so make sure they catch you when you are looking your very best!

A Medical team will also be situated at the start area.We will also have a pre-race warm up around 10 minutes before the race start to warm up those tight muscles so you will be ready for the run. All in all we are ready – the question is; are you ready to take on the challenge?

How to Get There

Arrival, Venue Directions & Parking

The race starts and finishes at near Rushmere Pond/Kings College, on Wimbledon Common as indicated by the arrow on the map below. This is also race HQ and where the registration area is located.

If travelling by train/tube, the nearest station is Wimbledon. From the station, cross the road and take the 93 bus towards Putney Bridge asking the driver to let you off at the War Memorial. Alternatively, if you would prefer to walk from Wimbledon station, turn right out of the station and walk up Wimbledon Hill Road and then continue on to High Street Wimbledon to the War Memorial. This is an approximately twenty minute walk.

If travelling by car, metered parking is available around Ridgeway and its surrounding side roads. Please resist the temptation to park to close to the race HQ to minimise disruption to the event. If parking in residential area we ask runners to have consideration for the residents in the area and keep noise disruption to a minimum.

Difficult experience. Will be writing to the race organisers. Main issue was that I suffered from a medical emergency and the staff/facilities on site were completely inadequate. They should be much more prepared with better equipment and competent medical professionals. I appreciate this is potentially an isolated incident, but my fear is the next person may not be as lucky as I was.

I can't believe. It was the first time I run a half marathon and I loved it. I could not believe the first place ... I think I will continue to train and strive to achieve new goals. Thank you very much.

Well organised and lovely volunteers. As my first half marathon, it was so lovely to have the many volunteers motivating runners and cheering them on the entire time. I felt safe along the route as the marshals were always there to ensure we were protected from any approaching vehicle. The whole event was well organised to the water on hand, the fruit, drinks and chocolate provided immediately after the race and the bag drop and race number collection. Overall, a super positive experience and would happily do it again next year!

Nice course. I really enjoyed my run, and thought the start/end was well-organised. It would benefit from having slightly more marshals at some road junctions, given the roads aren’t closed. The atmosphere was pretty dead throughout because it was a road race with no real obvious course for any onlookers. Start and end was good, and the shouty American!

Constructive feedback. Hi, Great route really enjoyed the race. One negative was that I was starving and the water tables had nothing but water. Most events I have done around the world have chocolates, jelly babes or bananas at some of the stations. I was disappointed to not get anything on this race.

Cracking local half marathon. Excellent local event in Wimbledon. Clearly marked signage, motivating and friendly marshals and well organised registration and finish. Will be running again!

Weather was terrible. I even didn't started the race - I came with kids, but the weather was terrible. No tents or any space where they could wait for me, so I left

Good course. It was a good course through Wimbledon and enthusiastic volunteers helping with road crossings / warm-ups etc. It was a shame there weren't more people supporting (but I doubt many people would have wanted to stand out in the rain..!)

I enjoyed the route. Considering what hideously wet, windy and cold morning it was the organisers did extremely well and I enjoyed the route.
