Barnsley Boundary Heroes Ride

Darton, Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Woolley Miners Welfare Cricket Club, Darton, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S75 5JA

Sun 18th August 2019

Organiser's Description

Three amazing routes for you to ride. The Classic sticks neatly to the metropolitan boundary of Barnsley and tackles a number of challenging climbs. It totals 80 miles with 2000m of climbing. The Extreme, also 80 miles, adds two notable national hill climbs to the Classic – Pea Royd Lane, and Jackson Bridge, each presenting 25% slopes. Not for the faint hearted

The Ultra is our prestige route and really takes things up many many notches. This route adds in the fearsome Strines - a frightening number of steep and remote climbs in the Peak District. And if that wasn’t hard enough, what follows is epic - Holme Moss, and the Vineyard, a little known climb with 30% slopes. In total it is 96 miles with 3000m of climbing. The word epic is over used but if there was a sportive that deserved it, this is it.

Distances

80 miles, 96 miles
