Bath Skyline Day Race
The Bath Skyline is a magnificent 6 mile route managed by the National Trust. It takes in breath-taking views of the City of Bath, Solsbury Hill and Sham Castle. The whole run is off-road to best capture these magnificent sites, along open countryside, through forest trails.... and given that this is Winter, through a healthy dose of good old mud! So be sure to pack your off-road shoes!
This race takes in two 3 mile laps along the Skyline route. We also have a 5k, a 500m fun run, and Canicross races, so there are events for all the family.
All our runners receive a top of the range custom medal. A new medal for the 2020 races will be revealed in the Autumn!

This world class facility is the training base of the British Paralympic team, Bath rugby and a huge host of other international athletes.
By Road: The city can be accessed from the M4 motorway. Take the junction with the A46, towards Bath. Turn right at the London Road West, then left onto Bathwick Street to cross the River Avon, left again at the roundabout onto the A36. Do not enter the University at the main entrance. Follow postcode BA2 7JY, along Quarry Rd, to the West Car Park.
Public transport: Bath Spa train station has regular inter-city services to London Paddington via Swindon, Reading and Chippenham, and to Bristol Temple Meads (and onward to Weston-super-Mare, Taunton, Devon and Cornwall).
The station is served hourly (two-hourly on Sundays) by the Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour and Gloucester and Bristol to Westbury and Weymouth regional trains.
The venue is about 2 miles away from the City centre, and can be easily accessed by bike, or on foot.
Follow the Relish Running signs to the car park.
There is free parking on Saturday and Sundays for all participants in our event car park. Please note there may be parking charges in place if you park in other parts of the University.
From the car park, please follow the smaller orange or pink signs to get to registration.
All numbers will be available to collect on the day.
Registration 09:00am -10:45am
Registration will be located by the car park entrance and will be under a white marquee. There will be desks for on the day registrations (assuming the race has not sold out); 10km, 5km and 500m.
As there are some narrow and technical sections, we will be starting the event in waves so everyone has a clear run. There will be waves of about 100-150 runners setting off at 5min or 10min intervals. All waves are open to all runners.
There will also be desks for Number Collection with signs; Wave 1, Wave 2, Wave 3, Wave 4 which refer to the 10km race. If you did not select a wave when you registered we will have assigned you to the earliest available wave.
Results will be posted to our website a couple of hours after the final finisher.
There is no on the day prize giving because of the multi wave, multi start time format of the events. Prize winners will be contacted mid week via email.
The final number of prizes awarded is determined by the total number of finishers (male and female combined) in a given race distance. If there are more than 100 finishers then the full range of awards are made as shown above. If there are between 50 and 100 finishers then the top 3 male and top 3 female runners will receive a prize. If there are less than 50 finishers then the first male and first female finisher will be awarded a prize.
This event will have 10k and 5k options. There will be no canicross or kids' 500m race option for this race.
We will have a selection of caterers serving hot food and drinks before and after the race. There are on site toilets and bag drop, but there are no changing rooms so a warm change of clothes would definitely be recommended!

The final schedule will be published on the Wednesday of race week, once we have all registrations in, and can confirm the intervals between the waves.
Our timing system relies on people starting in the correct colour wave. If you start in the incorrect wave you will throw out the results and the prizes, and therefore be removed from the results entirely (DQ).
The race briefing will take place at 09:30 for the Canicross event, please do not bring your dogs to the briefing.
The race briefing for all other waves will be at the start line 5mins before each wave start. The start will be between the two start flags.
Results will be published online by 6pm on Sunday.
Prize winners will be contacted by the end of the week by email, there is no on the day prize giving.

Off -Road or Trail Shoes – It will be muddy and slippery on the course. Off-road shoes will be a great asset!!!
Music Players – As set out UK Athletics rules, in ear, or over ear headphones are not permitted. Bone conducting headphones are permitted.
Canicross - We are very pleased to have a Canicross (runners with dogs) specific waves over the 5km and 10km distance. There is a separate set of rules for Canicross events, please read these as you will need to acknowledge and sign that these have been read prior to registration if you are signing up on the day. These will start at 10:00am.

Muddy but fun!
5k trail run
Down side was there wasn’t much contact from the organisers. The one email I received went to my junk and luckily I found it before the run but once I found it the instructions were clear on when to arrive and what start times I was part of.
A bit ad-hoc but good spirit and fun muddy route
I found the instructions for race wave vs event wave really confusing, and seemed to have no bearing on when or in which wave we actually started, but the color-coded race numbers were useful and good.
