Beyond Dorchester 10km and 5km

DORCHESTER 10km and 5km

Dorchester is the county town of Dorset, England. It is situated between Poole and Bridport on the A35 trunk route. A historic market town, Dorchester is on the banks of the River Frome to the south of the Dorset Downs and north of the South Dorset Ridgeway that separates the area from Weymouth, 7 miles to the south.

 

ABOUT THE ROUTE

The South West county town hosts this 10km and 5km running route, come and enjoy an early season road run around Dorchester.

After successful other running events in the South West we have decided to include this event and hope it becomes a permanent fixture in the running calendar.

A perfect opportunity to really test your ability after a winters training over the 10km and 5km distance, this route is the perfect challenge, it's not hilly and is an interesting run around the town hitting lots of leafy suburbs, side roads and plenty of quite roads and pavements.

 

EVENT CENTRE:

and will include

 


Toilets (Real toilets)
Pre and Post event massage and taping (Fee payable)
Hot and Cold drinks and small snacks (Fee payable)


 

Being a small event, there is no major hot food available, however the great people at The Hatch cofee, will be serving Tea, Coffee and Light bites.

However if your wanting something more substantial there are many local restaurants near to the parking location (Booking advised).

Please note parking and the event centre are in different locations for 2020 (THERE IS NO PARKING AT THE START LOCATION).

EVENT INFORMATION

With dedicated public parking in the centre of Dorchester approx. 700m from the start and finish line ( DT1 1QW ).

Registration, The Start and Finish will all be at Dorchester cricket club ( DT1 2EN ).

 

With lots of places for family and friends to cheer you on.

 

With a bag drop, coffee and cake available at the Start/Finish as well as pre event Rock taping and massage also available after the event.

 

A relaxed and welcoming environment awaits the runners.

 

SPECIFIC EVENT INFORMATION

Registration will be from 0800 – 0945

The 10km event will start at 1000

The 5km event will start at 1000

 

There will be a small safety brief on the start line just before the race begins, if you miss the briefing you will not be able to compete.

 

AFTER ENTERING:

On entering the event you will receive a booking confirmation email.

If you don’t receive it, please check your Spam/Junk folder.

Further event details will be sent to your registered email address before the event.

 

Event updates will arrive approx. 1 month before an event, but everything you need to know is contained with in these event pages.

 

EVENT PACK / NUMBERS etc:

We dont send anything through the post, everything you need for the event is collected at Registration on the morning of the event, please leave enough time to register and be ready for the start , the start for this event is at 1000 with the safety brief taking place at 0945 (if you miss this brief you will not be able to takle part).
