Organiser's Description

EVENT UPDATE 23/Feb 2021 : The Bridport Half and 10 km has been postponed.

Following the latest Government announcement (22nd February 2021) regarding the gradual unlock after the third national lockdown due to the Coronavirus global pandemic.

It was announced that organised outdoor sport can resume from the 29th of March.

Great news moving forward but unfortunately a day late for The Bridport Half and 10km.

It is therefore with regret we must postpone the event until September 26th, 2021 (TBC).

WE HAVE CLOSED ENTRIES TO SEPTEMBER EVENT, HOWEVER YOU CAN STILL ENTER THE VIRTUAL EVENT FOR 28TH MARCH

BRIDPORT HALF MARATHON AND 10 km:

Registration is at the football club, as is parking for most cars, overflow parking is in various other car parks around the town, all of which are within 500m of registration and the start.

The route will be open to traffic, however there are plenty of wide pavements, quite roads and cycle-paths to run on also with plenty of marshals around the course, the run is a safe, scenic route around Bridport town and surrounding villages.

ABOUT THE ROUTE:

Dependent on your route choice will depend on how much of a test you will have,

The Half marathon has a couple of tough hills but also includes many flat, fast sections.

The 10km has just one hill and could be a fast 10km.

Other than the hills it is a mix of flat fast open running, including some running through the town, however there are plenty of wide pavements, quiet roads, and cycle-paths to run on.

We cannot promise a PB, but we can promise a run in the beautiful Dorset countryside.

All the routes will be open to traffic.

This is a small local run, it is a very welcoming, just come and enjoy a run and grab a nice medal as a reward.
