Organiser's Description

BRUTAL events are challenging trail runs featuring natural obstacles and packed with muddy bogs, long stretches of 'chocolate-flavoured water' and monstrous hills! Suitable for both beginners and pros. Bordon offers a classic Brutal 10k or 5k course of tough, awesome cross country running across marsh, hills, gravel and sand. This course may not be particularly hilly, but the energy sapping mud will challenge even the fittest of Brutaleers! These fantastic mud runs are considered to be natural obstacle courses and rarely fail to sell out in advance.

Muddy great fun. If you fancy combining your running with the positive effects of a health spa, then this event is for you. The running part is the easy bit, through the woods on rough paths, but the health spa aspects require some imagination... with the cold water plunge pool being provided by multiple ponds on route, and the mud-pack treatment coming from a variety of bogs (with the "Chocolate Porridge Pot" being a particular waist-deep favourite!) The course is excellent, the organisation slick and the event rewarding. The official photographs are pretty expensive, but the race itself is certainly worth the investment in time and money.
