Buttermere Trail Races

Buttermere, Cumbria

Croft Farm, Buttermere Village, Cumbria, CA13 9XA

Sun 29th March 2020

Organiser's Description

Due to the possibility of not having a footbridge over Buttermere Dubs near to the start of the race, we have decided to amend the usual 10 mile course this year, and there will be two route options of 20k and 8k. The footbridge which provides access to the western shoreline of Buttermere is currently being replaced. There was a temporary bridge in place to allow access. However, this has been removed for the Winter period with the possibility of it not been there in time for the event.

The new course is to start with a circuit around the whole of Buttermere Lake in a clockwise direction. This is a classic route described as "One of the best round-the-lake walks in the Lake District". Hopefully this should be a fantastic race...(Date tbc)
