Organiser's Description

A twenty-four hour endurance event taking place on a 5k course in and around the incredibly beautiful valley that surrounds Castleshaw, in West Yorkshire.

The event starts at 11:00 Saturday 11 July - giving you over 12 hours of running before the sun sets just after 10pm. Then it's 7 hours of torch-lit running before sun up at 5am, and the final push for the finish at 11.00 on Sunday 12 July.

OK after a little pressure we have given in! We are adding a 6 hour, 12 hour, and now a huge 36 hour option for 2020.

The usual snacks will be available throughout the weekend along with:

During these times hot food will be available for all at event HQ, 2 minutes from the campsite.

Happy to cater for all dietary requirements but you must inform us at least 5 days before the event.

How To Get There

Casteshaw Centre is located in the South Pennines, at the Northern edge of the Peak District National Park. We are approximately 6 miles from Oldham town centre, and 12 miles from Huddersfield. Manchester and Leeds are 15 miles and 30 miles away respectively, Use postcode OL3 5LZ for your Satnav.

Parking

The venue has no parking, except for camper vans and our emergency staff. You may park on the road up to the centre.

Course Details

A 5k ish loop set in a valley. The track winds its way through this amazing wild playground, one minute you will be on man-made gravel tracks, the next you will be following natural sheep trails, then open fields. It's a truly fantastic course that will be forever changing, as you make the transition from day to night and back again.

Camping

Camping for one person is included in the entry fee.

Bunk house accommodation, £10.00 per night per person (book during registration)

Campsite opens on Friday 14:00 no sooner. You will have been designated a camping area with adequate space (3.5 X 3.5 m) for a four man tent. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PITCH ANYTHING BIGGER. You can arrive, pitch and settle in, any time after 14:00. Camp fires are NOT allowed on site.

Race numbers will be issued at registration.

Full support is available within the start and finish area, this includes first aid, water, food etc. There will be no facilities on the course. but the facilities at HQ are awesome.

The prize giving will be in the event centre or outside (weather permitting) at about 11:45. Prizes will NOT be sent out, if you wish to receive them you please attend the presentation.

Kit Requirements

England in July! It could be cold, wet and as it's a 24 hour event, dark…remember to bring a torch. You will not be allowed to run if you do not have your own suitable torch.

Unless the weather forecast is very bad there is no mandatory kit, however if the weather forecast is bad (blizzards, heavy rain/winds etc) full body cover (long sleeve windproof top & bottoms) will be required. We will try and notify you by text & or email if we are expecting this but it is suggested you bring it just in case, you can always leave it in your car, tent or with luggage storage, if you do not need it.

You are camping in July, don't forget your sleeping bag! Toilet roll....

YOU WILL NEED TO SUPPLY YOUR OWN CUP FOR THE AID STATION, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP THIS CLEAN.

You can arrive pitch camp and settle in, get to know your neighbouring team mates and prepare for the following day.

Registration open from 18:00 to 20:00
Solo 36 Hour, start, 23:00

We will be having a last course inspection in the evening - you are all welcome to join us.
