Organiser's Description
The GREATER GLASGOW CHALLENGE is a 7-race series covering the counties of Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire, West Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, East Renfrewshire and Renfrewshire.
The event is limited to 150 runners and is guaranteed to sell out quickly. All finishers will receive a bespoke medal and there will be awards for the Top 3 finishers in Open, Masters and Junior races.
Cleghorn Estate Gardens is the perfect venue for this intimate event in the heart of Scotland. Two miles from the historic market town of Lanark, surrounded by working farmland, the 18th century gardens are beautiful whatever the season. Cleghorn Estate has been the home of the Lockharts since the beginning of the 15th century. The Eliott Lockhart family moved back to the estate in the 1970s and have worked tirelessly to reinvigorate the Old Garden to something close to its former glory, albeit without an army of gardeners. Ancient yew trees, towering beech, oak, lime and even a pair of giant redwoods, as well as rhodhodendrons and herbaceous perennials border the beautiful tiered lawns that provide a blank canvas on which the event in planned.
Our aid stations are vegetarian and vegan-friendly and we follow a strict COVID-19 protocol.

Course Details
The course is a 2.5K out and back loop with a mix of trail and paved roads along the farm. The traffic free route is undulating and wide enough for runner traffic both ways.
21.1K: One short out and back loop of 550m, followed by 4 full out and back loops of 5K.
10K: Two out and back loops of 2.5K.
ASIM MIAN 5K: One out and back loop of 2,5K
3K: One out and back loop of 1.5K.
2K: One out and back loop of 1K.
What's Included
BIB COLLECTION:
Registration booth will open at 8:15AM and will close 15 minutes before the start of each race.
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
1) Aid Station at the Start / Finish.
2) Race Bib.
3) First aid support.
4) Course marshals.
5) Public liability insurance.
6) Custom-designed finisher medal for all distances.
In an effort to make our events as environmentally friendly as possible, all our events are cup-less. We will provide water but you will need to bring your own refillable bottle.
AWARDS:
There will be awards for Top 3 finishers in the following categories.
1) Top 3 Open (Under 40s) Male / Female in HM, 10K & 5K
2) Top 3 Masters (Over 40s) Male / Female in HM, 10K & 5K.
3) Top 3 (Male / Female) in 3K Juniors (Age 11-15).
4) Top 3 (Male / Female) in 2K Juniors (Age 7-10).
Award ceremony will take place at approximately 11:30 AM.
