The Cycle Southampton Sporterium is a brand new and exciting event coming in 2020 to get people on their bikes! The 'Sporterium' contains two distances of Sportive and a City Centre Criterium.
The Sportives will start in Southampton Guildhall Square in waves of 125 heading out into the Hampshire Countryside with the short (~60km) and a standard (~100km) that head east out of the city then north towards Winchester before coming back to Southampton through Romsey.
The routes will be on open roads with friendly marshals and plenty of feed stations to keep you going on the course. This event is perfect for both first timers and experienced riders looking for a relaxing day with friends on their bikes.
Elevation Gain: 702m
The short Sportive is the shorter of the two routes, designed for people who are taking on their first Sportive or would just like a shorter easier ride.
The route will start in the city centre near the Guildhall, and take riders through the beautiful surrounding countryside of Fair Oak, Shawford, Braishfield and Romsey before finishing back in the heart of Southampton.
Elevation Gain: 981m
The standard sportive is the longest distance on offer for this event with the route just over 100KM!
This scenic route begins in the city centre, and will see riders travelling through the beautiful surrounding countryside heading north of Winchester, through New Alresford and across to Stockbridge before coming back down towards Southampton through Romsey!
