Drakes Island Swim
Now in its fourth year the Chestnut Appeal’s Drakes Island swim will see participants set off from the beach at Firestone Bay, in Plymouth, with the swim to Drakes Island taking place in the shelter of the Bay. It’s a great swim for anyone new to organised open water swimming, and swimmers of all abilities and ages have taken part. Swimmers will receive a delicious pasty at the finish, plus a medal and an enamel mug.
Fundraising from the last three Drakes Island Swims has reached over £25,000, and all money raised helps prostate cancer patients and their families across Devon and Cornwall. The Chestnut Appeal for Men's Health has been able to help provide the very latest in care and equipment for faster diagnosis of prostate cancer.
