Eastnor Castle Mud Bath
Organiser's Description
Eastnor Castle is the home of the Land Rover test centre, and over 60 miles of trails wind through the deer park and woodland. These man-made trenches and troughs exaggerate the natural terrain to give a year round muddy experience, and maintained with additional water, these mud pits are just as lovely in the Summer as they are in the Winter!
We will be making the most of the terrain as it lies, picking the muddiest trails the Estate has to offer. There will be a few natural obstacles - fallen trees to navigate, gullies to cross and of course, lots of mud to roll in! And in between the mud, there are some good hills. Everyone is very welcome to come and take part in our 10k, 6k, 3k or 1.5k mini mud bath.

Public Health England, the police, ambulance service and all council departments have shown their full support for our new event format, and the event as a whole follows all government guidance on social distancing and hygiene practices.
The format is new, the feel is a little different, but these are still going to be great events and we couldn't be more excited to be bring you safe and enjoyable events once again.

There is no on the day prize giving because of the multi wave, multi start time format of the events. Prize winners will be contacted mid week via email.
A range of caterers selling hot drinks and food, as well as our hog roast and beer tents.
At present all our starts are individual, at 15-30 second intervals. Runners are generally seeded fastest to slowest to help spread people out across the course. The only exception is that a pair from the same household may run together on the basis that you run the whole event together and that you run in single file, not side by side.
All runners need to provide a predicted finish time to help us organise the start lists. This doesn't need to be too exact so don't worry if you think it might have changed come race day. If you wish to run as a household pair, or in the same wave of 30 when that is permitted, please select the same slightly obscure predicted finish time. Rather then selecting 50mins 0secs, select 50mins 1 sec for example.
We hope to shortly be able to offer waves of 30 runners starting every 10-15mins. These will be mixed ability waves. In time we hope to be able to get back to our usual wave size which is ~100 runners.
Race Registration
We are not posting out any numbers for this event, all numbers will be available to collect on the day.
Runners who register on the day will be assigned a wave according to the first available wave. Waves are not organised by predicted finish time, waves allow runners to spread out over the course. Registration will remain open so long as there are still waves to start.
Course Markings
Our courses are marked with bright multi directional arrows. There are used for turns and periodically along straight ahead sections. We will also be putting down orange temporary marking paint, but given the mud on the course we would not rely on too much of this being around once the first wave of runners has gone through. The vast majority of our courses are marked with Relish Running Races branded tape which will be hanging from trees overhead and along the side of fences. It has a white background and a red print of the Relish Running Races logo.
Results
As we are in an internet black spot and will not be leaving site until 10pm when everything is packed away, we will post results around midday on Monday.
Prizes
There are no prizes for the 1.5km or 3km events. There are prizes for the 6km and 10km, with the final quantity of prizes being dependent on the number of finishers on the day. We will contact all the prize winners 2-3 days after the race, once the results have been finalised.
Race briefing
Race briefing takes place at the start line.
