Family Halloween Treasure Hunt

Moffat, Dumfries and Galloway

UK

Sat 24th October 2020

Organiser's Description

Gather your mini beasts, worst witches and grotty gremlins and join in with Secret London Run’s socially distanced Family Halloween Treasure Hunt.

From 24th October to 1st November 2020, keep your children occupied all week with this socially distanced treasure hunt. Find black cats, carved pumpkins and orange doors – you can choose to find 50, 100 or 200 items over the week.

Any member of your team can play at any time, anywhere. All you need to do is take a photo or selfie with an item (outside, in the public domain) and upload it to your team's individual mission sheet, using your mobile phone. As soon as any member of your team uploads a photo, the rest of your team will be able to see it.

Price includes one glow in the dark medal; more can be ordered.

How Does It Work

On Friday 23rd October you'll be sent a video by email telling you more about the Evil Halloween Wizard and how you can stop him. You'll also receive your team's mission and instructions on the email.

TREASURE HUNT BRIEF
Your treasure hunt brief will include a personal link to your Team's Mission online - including 50, 100 or 200 items for you to hunt. You can share it with other members of your team, wherever they are in the world.

Only you, the people you choose to share it with and Secret London Runs have access to this document so your photos, including selfies or family pictures will be safe.

BANISH THE WIZARD
Over the week, any member of your family can play at any time. All you need to do is take a picture of an item (outside, in the public domain) on the list and upload it to your Team's Mission sheet, using your mobile phone. As soon as any member of your team uploads a photo, the rest of your team will be able to see it.

GAME OVER
At 7pm on the 1st November, the magic will be over and you'll no longer be able to add photos of your treasure list items to your Team Sheet.

Now all that's left to do is wait for your magical talisman (medal) to arrive in the post.

Race Options

We've designed this challenge so that the whole family can get involved. All you need to play is your camera phone (with 4G) and download the FREE Google Sheets App to your phone.

Below are some suggestions of what challenge you and your family might like to choose.

50 Item Treasure Hunt Keep one younger child occupied all week or could be completed in one go by an older child.

100 Item Treasure Hunt Keep two older children occupied all week with plenty of items to get families involved.

200 Item Treasure Hunt Keep a team of kids occupied all week or join up with families and friends in different locations.
