Welcome to the 12th edition of the Surrey Legs of Steel 2018!DATE: Sunday, 21st October 2018NEW RACE HEADQUARTERS: De Vere Horsley Estate (East Horsley, KT24 6DT)The Surrey Legs of Steel event is open to anyone with a passion for cycling and will take place on Sunday 21st October 2018, with riders starting/finishing at the gorgeous Devere East Horsley Estate which is our new event venue. Both Long course (80km) and Short course (45km) options will again be available and will largely follow the same routes as last year. Following your feedback, riders will now pass Dorking early in the morning which will mean avoiding rush hour traffic and busy roads!Event includes:Full route markingTwo feed stationsElectronic chip timingFinisher medal and a goody bag from our sponsorsOn site cateringFacilities and parkingMechanical supportMedical supportEntry fee: £34Awards: Although our ride is a non-competitive event, most people still like to know how well they've done. With this in mind we will have electronic timing at the event and each rider will be awarded with a bronze, silver or gold medal! Sponsors: We’ve got a spectacular line up of SPONSORS this year who will make sure your goody bags are worth all that effort. We are pleased to welcome back our loyal sponsors Saddle Drunk and Yellow Jersey, who are once again supporting this great event. The Selfish Bean coffee vans will be on site again providing barista style coffee and delicious cakes, and Head For The Hills will provide mechanical support. We are also delighted to welcome OTE Sports and PERK!ER into the fold! You’ll find OTE Recovery drinks and Perkier quinoa bars in the finishers bags.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The event is held to commemorate Dave Aitchison, a rising star in British triathlon and Ful-On Tri club member who died suddenly in January 2007 aged 29. All profits from the event go towards Dave Aitchison SportsAid Fund set up in Dave’s name by his family and the club to assist talented young triathletes in the Triathlon London region.
