A new event for the 2017 Great North Swim weekend! This is your opportunity to ditch the roads and the pool; limber up and embrace an off-road, open-water, island-hopping adventure! SwimRun has become a popular choice around the World for endurance athletes and is now the fastest growing endurance sport in the UK. Teams of two will navigate their way around a course on land and water in and around the beautiful Lake Windermere. Three distance options: Short involves 3 swims total distance 1.9k, 3 runs total distance 8.7k; Middle involves 5 swims total distance 3k, 5 runs total distance 18.3k; Endurance involves 7 swims total distance 4.5k, 6 runs total distance 32k.

Great Event. All info pre-event was fine... Directions to the changing tents was poor and it was more like a walk round and find if you're lucky... The race was great even with the 1st swim cancelled due to the weather (better safe than sorry!)... The finish was disappointing as it was mixed with, who knows how many, other non-SwimRun swimmers, which prevented the feel good emotion at the end of an event!!
