Organiser's Description

The Reading 10K is a great race for all runners, it’s a fast single lap 10K race suitable both club athletes looking for a new PB and newer runners looking for a flat, friendly, relaxed race with a generous cut off time.

Our lovely lakeside event village is full of music, flags and entertainment, it’s an ideal family event with time to enjoy the family races with the kids before you run your own race, then picnic by the lake. Also Mini Mile and 3kK Mini Marathon

Mini Mile Details

The Family Mini Mile is an opportunity to get the whole family running together, its free for parents running with their children. There is plenty of time to join in before the 10K.

Suggested age range for the Mini Mile is 4 – 8 years old.

3K Mini Marathon Details

A 3K race for older children and adults. Chip timing, free race t-shirt and a chunky medal to all finishers. Takes place within the scenic landscaped Green Park campus.

The suggested and 9 – 14 years old for the Mini Marathon. Parents can run free with their children but can also enter if they would like to receive the t-shirt and medal. The 3K race is also open to adults who might like to have a go at their first running race or would prefer a shorter distance than 10K.

10K Details

Perfect for first time 10K runners as well as those seeking a new PB. A flat and fast one lap race starting and finishing in Green Park with fully closed roads and a scenic rural route.

The route is all road, UKA permitted and has a cirtificate of course accuracy. Results are submitted to Power of Ten.

The route is marked in Kilometres and there are two water stations at roughly 3.5K and 7.5K.

Race Day Schedule

Our races are scheduled to allow you time to run with family and friends in the mini races before the 10K race.

Mini Mile – Warm Up 8.20am – Race Start 8.30am

Mini Marathon Warm Up – 9.05am – Race Start 9.15am

10K Race – Warm Up 10.20am – Race Start 10.30am
Adults running in the mini races will also receive a race t-shirt, results and medal. If you have entered the 10K or prefer just to run and support your child you do not need to enter.

Race Village

Race Village – Our race village will be full of music and flags. There will be a help desk for any last minute issues, a kit tent, catering and coffee vans, charity stalls, sponsors and of course pre and post race massage from North Hampshire Sports Massage.

Longwater lake is surrounded by landscaped parkland which is ideal for a picnic while you are waiting for friends and family to finish their race.

The race village is just a short walk from the car parks and has bike lock up facilities at 100 Brook Drive.
