First timer and very happy

This was my first half marathon. The event was well organised, welcoming and friendly throughout. The marshalls were lovely, drink stations well-staffed and tidy and it was a scenic course. Very glad I took part :)

Accessible and friendly event

This was the first Hertfordshire Riverside Half marathon and it was a success. The route is largely flat, on a mix of paved and unpaved paths. The recent rain had made some parts quite boggy so it may not have been the ideal course for a PB as advertised. It was a relatively small affair but as the half set off a few minutes after the 10k, there was quite a lot of overtaking which was not always easy on narrow, riverside paths with a few fishermen and their trolleys getting in the way. The chip timing worked well but a timing clock at the finish line for both events would have given those without running watches an idea of their finish line time. Good parking, good marshalls, friendly event - perfect for the novice half marathoner.

Well organised, not over crowded, beautiful scenic route

I really enjoyed this route as it was flat!! And the whole route was off road with beautiful surroundings. I like the number of runners as it was enough to feel apart of a race but not overcrowded, so you had space to run without getting in peoples way. Fairly easy to get to via public transport. Overall the race was well organised, a very enjoyable half marathon (if that even exists!)

A lovely place to run a Half.

My first Half Marathon so nothing to compare to but I felt well looked after before, during and after the race. It’s a lovely environment to run in and

Great event

This event was well organised and a really fun race. The course was a good mix of paved and trails through a scenic course. My only concern was that the course may have been longer than necessary - my personal GPS tracker had me covering 21.5k.
