Organiser's Description
The races will again commence with an open-water swim in the spectacular 38 acre Hever Castle Lake and River Eden, transitioning into the undulating cycle that takes athletes around a circuit through the High Weald of Kent, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and up to the stunning Ashdown forest for the longer distance races. The largely off-road run circumnavigates the estate and award-winning castle grounds before athletes make the dash to the tree-lined finishing chute beside the lake. Distance options, including children's races, also aquathlon, duathlon and aquabike standard and sprint events.

How To Get There
Hever Castle is situated three miles South East of Edenbridge off the B2026 between Sevenoaks and East Grinstead in the village of Hever. Situated 30 miles from London in West Kent, exit the M25 at junctions 5 or 6 and follow the Brown tourist signs. Also well signed from the Hildenborough exit of the A21.
With such a busy event we urge you to check your journey time and allow plenty of time to access the car parks. All car parks are in adjoining fields to the event. Please follow the below instructions to avoid delays
On approaching to the venue, be sure to follow the yellow triathlon car park signs. DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR SAT NAV.
Please follow directions from marshals.
It is roughly 10 – 15 minutes walk to the event village.
Camping
The Castle Triathlon Series is offering camping at all UK and Irish castles (but we don’t supply the tent). If you are a camper with a tent or have a Campervan or Caravan take this fantastic opportunity to stay within the spectacular grounds of the Castle at which you are competing.
There will be toilet and showering facilities available at all sites. There will also be an electric hook-up at Castle Howard and Hever Castle which can be added to your booking on the online shop. There is no human waste disposal for caravans or camper vans on any of the Castle camping sites.
Prices for camping at the Castles are as follows:
Tent (2 people) – £25
Extra Person – £8.00 per night
No charge for under 5’s

Each 1st place winner will also receive a suitably themed trophy, and sponsor’s prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. There is a significant prize pot on offer for the Olympic and Gauntlet race distances.

A variety of locally-sourced foods, with succulent hog roasts and wood fired pizza just two of the highlights, with a huge variety of refreshments for competitors and spectators alike.

FAQ's
What time does the Hever Castle Triathlon start?
There are a wide range of event start times depending on the distance you have opted for. Exact start times for your chosen event will be emailed to you in the weeks leading up to race day. Please arrive at least 90 minutes before the start of the event to register with plenty of time.
When will I receive updates about the race?
The race organisers will provide updates 90 days, 60 days and 30 days before the event by email. Two weeks prior to the event full race details will be uploaded to the official website with wave start times also emailed to all competitors at this time.
Entrants will also receive weather and water temperature updates by text message shortly before the start of the race.
What kit do I need on the day?
For course entry and registration:
- Security wristband
- Photo ID
For the Triathlon:
- Neoprene Wetsuit - Hires are available from the organiser
- Goggles
- Towel
- Swimming hats - these will be provided on the day
- Bicycle - Road or Hybrid bike recommended
- Bicycle Helmet - with your race number affixed
- Bike water bottle - (Water points are available on the Bike course)
- Running shoes
- Timing chip - Please collect this on arrival
Will I receive a race pack before the event?
All entrants will be sent their official race pack by post within 14 days of race day which contains:
- Race number to be worn during the run and cycle
- Three race number labels for your equipment
- Event swim hat
- Timing chip device to be worn throughout all 3 parts of the race
Is drafting permitted?
No, drafting is not permitted during the race. Any competitors drafting will be issued penalties.
When can I find out my finish time?
On the day you can find your results by heading to the results tent in the event village. If you’ve provided your mobile number when signing up you’ll receive a text message with your official time swiftly after the race has finished. Full results will also be posted online on the evening of your race.

CHARGES:
Lough Cutra Castle – Competitors’ supporters can gain free entry to this event.
Cholmondeley Castle – £7.50 per adult and £3 per child
Castle Howard – £8.00 per adult and £3 per child
Hever Castle – £10 per adult and £5 per child (both July and September events)
Chateau de Chantilly – Competitors’ supporters can gain free entry to this event – It is essential for them to present their spectator ticket in order to do so. See race confirmation email for details. This offer is only applicable to a competitor’s supporters.
