Organiser's Description
Tahko lies in the heart of the Finnish Lakeland area known for its pure nature, colourful events, joyful activities, high-quality accommodation, great food and friendly hospitality. The changing seasons from snowy winters to colourful Autumns make it a memorable destination for any outdoor enthusiast. Now, it is also home to the World's northern-most IRONMAN race, featuring a crystal-clear lake swim and rolling bike and run through Finland's gorgeous countryside.
The single-loop swim takes place in the pristine water of Syväri lake in the protected Tahko Bay. The two-loop undulating bike course takes athletes through typical Finnish landscape and between forest, lakes and fields - perfect sight-seeing of the spectacular landscape on two wheels! The four-loop rolling run stays close to Tahko and is very spectator friendly.
