Organiser's Description

WHO WE ARE
Keswick Mountain Festival is a unique event offering a fantastic mix of outdoor activities and live music in the Lake District. There is a varied choice of sports (trail runs, triathlon, swimming, cycling and hiking), activities and entertainment aimed to inspire all ages and abilities. Set in one of the most beautiful parts of the Lake District; it’s a family friendly outdoors festival for everyone to enjoy.

With a huge programme of activities, world class speakers, sporting events, camping and live music in the evening, there is something for every adventurer at the Keswick Mountain Festival.

WHAT WE STAND FOR
We live for the outdoors and the Lake District. They are both integral to who we are and the lifestyle we choose. The Keswick Mountain Festival believes in an outdoors for everyone and exists to help visitors develop skills, discover new ones – or to simply hang-out with people who share a common outlook.

The festival also gives an opportunity to stand back, listen, learn and admire the abilities of the world’s best athletes, world class mountaineers and local legends too. With its stunning scenery, unrivalled setting and its natural arena, Keswick is the perfect location for a Mountain Festival and an ideal starting point for adventure.

FESTIVAL HISTORY
Originally founded by the Keswick Tourism Association, the Keswick Mountain Festival has been running since 2007.

Lucy Scrase from Elev8 Events became involved in the event in 2010 and brought an immense amount of passion and expertise to the festival and saw the event grow and mature under her stewardship. Brand Events bought into the event in 2014, investing in live music and increased marketing communications. Brand Events are one of the UK’s leading event organisers with Festivals such as CarFest and Kirsty Allsop’s Handmade Fair in its portfolio.

In 2018 Triathlon Edinburgh Ltd. became the new owners of Keswick Mountain Festival. We are a Scotland-based sports management company, working alongside Durty Events and have been involved in the Festival since 2016 operating the triathlons, open water swims, sportive and, more recently, junior aquathons.

Triathlon Edinburgh operates Aberfeldy Triathlon Festival, and have been the local Race Directors of IRONMAN 70.3 Edinburgh triathlon. Durty Events operates sporting events including Craggy Island Triathlon, Selkirk MTB Marathon & MTB Enduro, Selkirk Trail Marathon and The Heb Adventure Race.

With our background in sports management we believe we are well placed to further improve the quality of the experience for all visitors, with an emphasis on the delivery of all sports. We want to work closely with the town of Keswick, local stakeholders, sponsors and exhibitors to ensure the event develops in line with their objectives and wishes and we believe strong community ties are essential to the success of any event.
