Organiser's Description
The Southwell Sprint Triathlon is back again for its 25th year, with a slightly revised appearance in the Midland Sprint Series calendar moving to the start of June, becoming the 3rd event in the 2019 series. This legendary sprint triathlon takes place in the historic market town of Southwell and consists of a 400m swim in the Southwell Leisure Centre pool, followed by a 17.6km cycle, finishing with a two lap 5k run.
This is one of the best sprint triathlons to take on for your first dabble with the sport. It has always had a high percentage of first-timers and almost a third of our athletes are novices. The route does feature a few inclines, we wouldn’t say these were mountains but the first part of the run has earned itself the name 'The Southwell Slope'! Regardless, Southwell is a great event for athletes of all abilities who would like to challenge themselves.
