Miners' TRIal

Highley, Shropshire

Halo Severn Centre, Highley, Shropshire,

Sun 19th May 2019

Organiser's Description

The Highley Sprint Triathlon established itself as one of the most rewarding and beautiful events in the West Midlands - a truly unique event in a stunning location, rich in cultural heritage. To reflect the nature of the event, it was renamed in 2017 the Miners' TRIal.

Based at the Severn Centre in Highley, Shropshire, the swim is in one of the few remaining heated outdoor pools in the area. The bike leg takes in some stunning scenery and expect to dig deep, with rolling Shropshire hills and two challenging climbs. The off-road run descends into the beautiful Severn Valley, follows the banks of the River and crosses the historic Severn Valley Railway, finishing with a 1k hill climb challenge to the finish. In our opinion the event incorporates the most scenic bike and run routes of any sprint tri in the West Midlands.

Distances

400m swim, 18 km bike, 5 km run
