Organiser's Description

UK Running Series is proud to present the first event of the North Wales Challenge, set to take place in Alyn Waters Country Park in Wrexham, Wales on Sunday 7 November 2021.

The North Wales Challenge is a 6-race series covering the counties of Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.

The event is limited to 150 runners and is guaranteed to sell out quickly. All finishers will receive a bespoke medal and there will be awards for the Top 3 finishers in Open, Masters and Junior races.

Our aid stations are vegetarian and vegan-friendly and we follow a strict COVID-19 protocol.

Course Details

The course is a 2.5K out and back loop with a mix of trail and paved roads along the park. The traffic free route is undulating and wide enough for runner traffic both ways.

21.1K: One short out and back loop of 550m, followed by 4 full out and back loops of 5K.

10K: Two out and back loops of 2.5K.

5K: One out and back loop of 2,5K

3K: One out and back loop of 1.5K.

2K: One out and back loop of 1K.

1) Aid Station at the Start / Finish.
2) Race Bib.

5) Public liability insurance.
6) Custom-designed finisher medal for all distances.

AWARDS:

There will be awards for Top 3 finishers in the following categories.

1) Top 3 Open (Under 40s) Male / Female in HM, 10K & 5K

2) Top 3 Masters (Over 40s) Male / Female in HM, 10K & 5K.

3) Top 3 (Male / Female) in 3K Juniors (Age 11-15).

4) Top 3 (Male / Female) in 2K Juniors (Age 7-10).

In an effort to make our events as environmentally friendly as possible, all our events are cup-less. We will provide water but you will need to bring your own refillable bottle.

Parking

There is parking available on site for £1 a day. Even though there is ample parking, we always encourage our participants to car share wherever possible.

Registration & Start Times

Registration booth will open at 8:15AM and will close 15 minutes before the start of each race.

10:00 AM: Half Marathon
10:30 AM: 10K & 5K
11:30 AM: 2K
11:45 AM: 3K

The course will officially close at 12 noon for all distances.

Facilities

Toilets are located inside the park, near the registration area.

Free Places

Our volunteer marshals add so much to our events which is why we reward them with a free entry. This can be for themselves for the following race or a family member or friend for that same race.
