#Reclaimthesestreets 5km and 10km

Edinburgh, Midlothian

Gypsy Brae Recreation Ground, Edinburgh, EH5 1, United Kingdom

Sun 15th May 2022

Starting at 10:00

Organiser's Description

*ENTRY NOW ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE DAY*

Following the murders of too many women on our streets we would like to show solidarity with the many women, men, families and friends who have been affected by loss due to violence against women. Running should be a personal freedom however for many women that isn't a reality as safety on our streets has to be considered when choosing their route.

Our May 15th 5K and 10K in Edinburgh is a fundraiser and awareness raiser for the movement #reclaimthesestreets

@reclaimthesestreets are raising funds for @RosaforWomen. Rosa is the UK's only charitable funder dedicated to supporting women’s and girls’ organisations in the UK, including those addressing the causes and consequences of male violence and access to justice. These organisations are at the heart of everything Rosa does. It involves them in all aspects of its work to ensure resource reaches where it’s most needed and can make the biggest difference for women and girls

So for Ashling Murphy, Sarah Everard, Sabina Nessa and the heartbreakingly long list of other women who's lives were taken from them let's run together and help the next generation of young women and men grow up in safer streets.

Choose from 5km or 10km and come and run along a beautiful beachside promenade in Edinburgh which is forgivingly flat!

Enjoy the fantastic support along the route.

There will be a medal for all finishers!
