Ride It - Bristol Sportive

Hengrove Park, Bristol

Hengrove Park, Bristol BS14 0DE, UK

Sun 5th February 2017

Organiser's Description

There's no easy flat route South of Bristol and we've chosen Dundry Hill as our escape path from the city. Starting from Hengrove Park there's a brief chance to warm up the legs before the first climb of the day and a taste of what lies ahead. t's a tough climb but there's a fun fast descent down the other side. We then skirt the edge of the Mendip Hills before heading up into them via our second big climb of the day - Burrington Coombe. Continuing through the Mendips, and in a break with sportive tradition, the route goes down Cheddar Gorge rather than up it, and onto the Somerset levels and some flatter terrain. There's a final challenge waiting with another tough climb from Wells and back into the Mendips via Old Bristol Road before heading back to the finish. 4 distance options.
