Ride Yorkshire Sportive
With a mixture of climbs and technical descents, this Sportive has everything you'd expect from a ride through North Yorkshire. Some early easy miles on gently rolling terrain, through the Vale of Mowbray, take riders to the first split of the day just outside Carthorpe. Short route riders continue on flat miles East, while the Standard and Epic riders push out further South for some punishing climbs and fantastic scenery. They will skirt the edge of Leighton Reservoir, at which point the real climbing begins.
Epic riders take on the particularly challenging climb up Red Brae Bank, while Standard riders take a short sharp climb through the centre of the beautiful Yorkshire town of Pateley Bridge, to rejoin the back end of the Epic loop, before heading North up over Pateley Moor, en route back to Masham to rejoin the rest of the ride. Now on the home straight, expect some easy miles as you head East for the finish in Thirsk. 101, 81 and 38 mile options.
