Rocky Horror SwimRun
The Rocky Horror SwimRun incorporates 15.5 mile, 7 mile and 3.5 mile sprint events, and takes in some of the most beautiful sections of Devon’s South West coast, including the stunning Thurlstone Bay, home of the locally famous Thurlstone Rock, Hope Cove and the Salcombe Estuary. Starting at the National Trust's South Milton Sands, this new event is part of the Rock Sea Sports Weekend.
The event is suitable for experienced swimrunners, triathletes, trail runners or aquathloners, as well as those wanting to dip their toes and try their first shot at swimrunning. Bring your family for a day out in early Summer, there's also children’s races on the beach for aged 8 and under (800m), and 8 to 12 (1600m). While not specifically a fancy dress event, please feel free to add to your wetsuit, if you dare!

By road: South Milton Sands is 4 miles outside Kingsbridge, a market town and tourist hub on the A381, which runs from Totnes. From Kingsbridge follow the A381 South towards Salcombe. Turn right to South Milton village, then turn left (signposted) to the beach. The approach road to the beach is a narrow lane with limited passing places. At peak times it can be heavily congested so we suggest visitors arrive early, and consider departing via the village of South Huish.
By bus: Buses to South Milton and Thurlestone run from Kingsbridge. The 606 TALLY HO! service runs from Kingsbridge on the hour, taking around 6 minutes and dropping passengers 1 mile outside of South Milton.
By train: The closest stations are Ivybridge 14 miles away, and Totnes 17 miles away. The stations are served by Great Western Railway, with main line services from London Paddington to Plymouth and Penzance, and by Cross Country, with trains from Penzance through to Bristol Temple Meads and Birmingham New Street to Manchester, the North and North East of England (Leeds and Newcastle) and Scotland (Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen).
