Arley Hall & Gardens, Northwich, Cheshire

Arley Hall & Gardens, Northwich, Cheshire CW9 6NA

Sun 16th June 2019

Starting at 09:00

Organiser's Description

Created by runners. Inspired by game shows. Made for everyone. Rough Runner is a combination of distance running and epic obstacles, and is heading back to the stunning Arley Hall Estate, in Northwich, with its woodland paths, open plains and picturesque backdrop.

Take on our sweeper arm, 40m water slide, legendary travelator, and we also have epic new obstacles and challenges planned for you! Our event will be the closest thing you’ll find to doing Wipeout, Ninja Warrior, Gladiators and Takeshi’s Castle rolled into one. 100,000 Roughians to date have had the pleasure. A distance to suit your fitness – 5k, 10k or 15k routes available.

Roughian Rascals is also back, but bigger and better, with wet obstacles for the kids! This is a 1 mile course designed specifically for adventure-seeking kids from 7 to 12 years old.

By Road: From the M6 North or South take Junction 20 and head towards the B5356 towards Runcorn. Turn left off the B5356 onto Arley Road. Your destination will be on your right. The venue is about 1hr 20 mins from Leeds via the M62 / M6 J20 / B5356. It is about 1hr 30 mins hours from Sheffield, via the A57 / A6 / A555 / M56 / B5356. Use postcode CW9 6NA for your Satnav.

By Rail: The nearest stations is Northwich (about 6 miles), on the Mid Cheshire Line from Manchester Piccadilly to Chester via Stockport, Altrincham, Knutsford and Northwich. Event Details

Minimum age for participants in the 5k, 10k and 15k events is 16 yrs

Start times will be from 9am through to approx 2pm. We will advise you of your start time about 7 - 10 days prior to the event date.

Please arrive on site around 1 hour prior to your start time, to get yourself registered, set up and ready to run!

Things you'll need to bring:

  • A print out of your ticket, a signed waiver (here), and photo ID. You can’t race without!
  • Cash for food and drinks on site - card payment machines out in the countryside can be temperamental. Car parking is £8 cash on the day.
  • Suitable clothing. This is up to you, but we'd suggest a warm change of clothes for after the event and gloves to use during (for all those nets and ropes). You will get muddy, and so will your trainers, so don't wear anything you are particularly precious about!
