RUAlive Trail Scramble Weekend

Camelsdale School, Haslemere

Camelsdale Primary School, School Road, Haslemere, UK

Sat 17th October 2020

Starting at 00:30

Organiser's Description

Calling all runners, walkers and mountain bikers. Help raise money for local PTAs and the National Trust and say a huge thank you for providing education to our children, and areas where we can escape to nature in this challenging time.

All proceeds go to charities so please challenge yourself and your friends to get out into nature and complete that distance you have always wanted to do. You may not get a shiny medal this time, but you will get some discounts, goodies, and the pleasure of knowing that you have helped towards the upkeep of our schools and of National Trust properties.

This non virtual event allows you to maintain social distancing as here are no set or marshalled routes, or start / finish lines. Our suggested routes hopefully will inspire your imagination when planning, or you can use them for guidance on the day. Once you have purchased the distance you want we will send you a link to the routes.

This October, come and embrace a day / weekend of nature and spectacular views. Find your own trails connecting numerous commons around Haslemere on foot, MTB, or both, with friends and family. Enjoy well-deserved food and drink at our local cafes/shops pre, during and post event. Pick any distance you want from a 5k through to a 100k+ ultra-distance and see how many commons you can tick off along the way. Come along to our Trail Scramble weekend and invite friends and family as well.

Why Enter?

RUAlive want to help local communities feel alive whilst raising money for the local state schools and local National Trust supporter groups. Thank you for donating your chosen entry fee to one of these. Our events for participants are a level playing field:

- We all have to put on our running shoes

- We all have to challenge ourselves mentally and physically to finish the route

- Take your “couch to 5k” to the next level or push your elevation and distance boundaries if you are a seasoned or “wish to be” ultrarunner

How It Works

Review the RUAlive Trail Scramble scorecard and decide if you want to enter as an individual or as a team of up to 6. Pick the distance you want to do and see how many commons you can tick off along the way. When you have had enough then bring your scorecard to the nominated place to receive your goodie bag.

The trail run and MTB routes are amazing so why not mix it up if you want. You can either plan the route yourself or hire one of our local guides to take you around

Whilst your friend or family member is running / MTBing their decided distance, you the support crew could visit these same commons cheering you on and then visit our suggested local shops for refreshments. There are plenty of National Trust car parks close by so that you don’t have to walk miles if you don’t want to.

Prizes and kudos will be awarded for various achievements cross the weekend, eg most miles run in one go, least distance done, least and greatest elevation gain, least number of car parks used.

Guided Tours

RUAlive want you to get the best out of your weekend so if you would like a tailored guided trail run or MTB ride then get in touch with us as there is so many ways you can do this fabulous circuit. Why not get the locals to either reduce the amount of elevation you do, or climb Everest; email [email protected] titled “Guide Request” for more details.
