Excellent January half marathon. Really enjoyed this event. Excellent turnout for a January half marathon. Excellent signage throughout the run. A bit of a testing climbed made it more of a challenge. Plenty of marshels giveing out encouragement, a big thank you to them as the weather was not to nice at time. Would recommend this event. Could do with a sign for direction from the golf club carpark to the starting area. Also you there was a bag drop off area, but I couldn't see any details of this in the pre race info.

Well organised, but a tough first time half marathon. This was my first half marathon. I was left feeling very underwhelmed by the event. First off, the route is difficult 4 laps with a steep incline. I ran a time off 2hr 35minutes and I was close to the last person to finish. When I finished, everyone was packing up. It was a very wet day so there was little support so that probably also reflects on my score (off course not the fault of the organiser). Information prior to the event was great; as was on the day itself. Just a little bit meh, for what was a big achievement for me. I imagine for seasoned runners this as a great route and challenge.

Great turnout and great atmosphere. A good size field for the race, the mix of races helping that on top. The stewards kept everyone motivated before and throughout the race in cold and wet conditions. The hill is a great test. My two constructive comments. The signage from the road of St Margaret’s was non existent and really needs to be addressed. Some of the paths were really muddy and slippery on the downhill around the end of the first mile of the 10k race. Well done to the organisers though

Good run. Well organised, great support during the run, especially from the marshall with the mic on the approach to the back of the hall, very encouraging and happy, made me smile. All the information I needed arrived before the event by email. So many km markings on the route wasnt sure which ones I was following for the 10km but it wasnt a problem. Nice refreshments but couldnt eat the flapJack as I was told it was made with butter. Made with margarine would help include the vegans. Paper cups of water would be better than plastic bottles during the run. Environmentally not sound providing plastic bottles when most runners just want a quick swig... they could get those from a paper cup of water. Weather was harsh but didnt spoil this great run. Have done this one twice and would do it again. Thanks

Great race, totally recommend for newbies to 10ks. This was my first time doing Heaton Park and only my second 10k ever so wasn't sure what exactly to expect. Amazing though, despite the rain and gross January day, the organisation was wonderful, the cheerleaders along the way gave great support and the snacks and water at the end came at absolutely the perfect time. To top it off, I beat my last time so it was a great experience all round at Heaton.. thank you!!

Wet and Cold in Rainy City. Superbly organised run despite efforts from mother nature to dampen. No one told me about the hill and the effort required to get up it second time around. Continual encouragement from the Marshals helped create a great atmosphere. Will be looking for it same time next year.

Brilliant atmosphere despite the weather. This was my first time running at Heaton Park. The organisation, mixing the different race lengths, the stewardship, warm up and refreshment/supplement post race was excellent. The inclined parts of the race were an absolute killer but should prepare me well for this years running timetable. A really enjoyable event all round despite the British weather!

Heaton Park 5k. Great course and stewards were very friendly and motivational around the course. Could have done with more signs starting from the car park. As someone who has never run around Heaton Park we were just lucky that we were behind someone who knew where they were going! Would have liked more email information prior to event. Didn't get the start times or race number sent through until the day before which seems quite late. Overall enjoyed the day and would definitely do it again but some of the organisation could be better.

Well organised and scenic race. The Heaton 5K, 10K, and Half was well run and coordinated. The course was well marked and easy to follow and had a great variation in scenery. Made for a great day out and would happily run the event again if offered in 2021.

Very well organised. A great race, very well organised in a lovely setting. Challenging yet not impossible! Loved the proper tracks & footpaths which gave sure footed conditions despite the torrential rain beforehand. Motivational signs on the course, lots of spectator interaction & great professional photos. Great medal & tasty snacks at the end too!

Well organised, volunteers were great.. Did the 10km yesterday and got a PB. Great course, tricky hill but a few nice downhills to get some breath back. Hills were slightly more difficult due to them all being at the end of a u turn! 😊
