Something Wild Trail Running Festival - Sunday
Hexworth, Yelverton, Devon
HUCCABY FARM, HEXWORTHY, PRINCETOWN, PL20 6SBSun 4th August 2019
Starting at 09:30
Organiser's Description
Events include the trail marathon, which has more than 1325m of ascent, and the half marathon, which also includes two crossings of the River Dart. Our Summit Wild Ultra (35 miles), is an ideal entry level ultra, although with 1,649m of climb, it’s no walk in the park, believe us!
There is also a 10km race, a 5 km race and a 1k and 2k race for the kids.
All in all, it’s a great weekend, whether you've travelled with your family or just want to see the best that Dartmoor has to offer.

ULTRA - TOTAL CLIMB 1381M (4533 FEET)
The Summit Wild Ultra is a new addition to the Something Wild Trail Running Festival. It is the ideal distance for your first ultra – even though it is by no means an easy ultra. It starts alongside the marathon and incorporates the marathon circuit plus one lap of Sunday’s 10K route.
MARATHON - TOTAL CLIMB 1325 METRES (4347 FEET)
The trail marathon is our blue ribband event. Starting and finishing at the festival site at Huccaby, it crosses the fulcrum of Dartmoor where east and west rivers meet at Dartmeet and completes a circuit of Bellever woods via Yartor, Babeny and Sherwell Farm. From here you will head east along Dr Blackalls Drive, crossing the river for a second time at New Bridge following a bone jarring descent and heading in to Holne Woods, then on in to Hembury Woods, skirting the brook before ascending the steep climb up Pupers Hill via Scorriton.
HALF MARATHON - TOTAL CLIMB 754M (2544 FEET)
Make no mistake: This is a tough half marathon, but you will be well rewarded with some of the best views that Dartmoor has to offer.
