Somme Centenary Challenge Run - November

Samphire Hoe, Kent

Samphire Rd, Dover CT17 9FL, UK

Fri 18th November 2016

Organiser's Description

Our July event proved so popular that was impossible to accommodate all the runners who wished to take part, so we've arrange for a second event to commemorate the ending of the Battle of the Somme. The medal will be a similar "tombstone" design...To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, you'll be running under the White Cliffs of Dover within sight of France if the weather is good, and most of those who fought and died for the British Army would have sailed from Dover. This will be a 6 hour timed challenge event. Complete as many 3.85 mile loops as you wish within the time limit. We're aiming to start at 07:30, early we know, but significant as that was the "over the top" time on the 1st July 1916...
