Registration & race briefing

What will registration look like??

You will register online. About 7 days before event day we will send you an email. You will then need to complete the Competitor Responsibility Statement and Covid Health Screening Questionnaire online. This avoids the queue at number pick up. You must do this otherwise you will not be able to get your race number. If you have missed any email you can find it by going to your my.challenging.events account

When is the race briefing??

To avoid crowds we will do the race briefing via a webinar on Friday evening. You will be emailed a google meets invite. Dont worry if you cant make the briefing, it will be recorded for you to watch when you can. You must watch the briefing. Any emergency updates will be communicated on race day, either via email or as you head into transition.

When will i get my race pack??

Race packs will be made 72 hours before pick up. They will contain your numbers, wristband, swim hat and timing chip. You can collect these on either Saturday between 3pm and 5pm or at your allocated arrival time. There will be extra registration desks to allow the queue to move quickly. You must know your race number and ensure you either have a BTF day licence (paid when entering) or an in date BTF licence. If it is out of date you will need to pay £6.

The Start, finish & Transition

What will Transition look like?

Big and spacious! Usually we rack 4 bikes each side to a rack but now it will be two bikes each side. Make sure you have your bike stickers on, wristband on and helmet on a done up before entering transition. The marshal will check from a distance. This will speed up the queue. You MUST maintain social distancing at all times. Please be aware of what is happening around you.

What will happen at the Start?

We will revert to a time trial format. The Standard wave will start first and you will be set off individually in 15 second intervals. The Sprint wave will follow. The event will start at 11:45am - You will allocated an approx start time which will spread the arrival of competitors to allow for social distancing.

How will the finish work?

You will get that same finish line feeling but in a slightly different way. Your well earned medal will be laid on a table ready for you to collect. There will be a sealed water for you and a sealed banana. Unfortunately COVID-19 has ruined our usual amazing finish line spread! You will be instructed to take off your own chip and place it in the bucket of diffinfected. Then you are encouraged to leave the finish area quickly. You are able to recover outside this area where there is more space. Again please respect the 2M social distancing rule.
