By train: Oxshott railway station is 16 miles down the line from London Waterloo. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by South Western Railway.
The Perfect Pre Xmas Spin: 100 miles or 100kms into the quiet lanes of Berkshire & the Chilterns. Ride with up to 5 other people, enjoy a great fully sign posted route with regular feed stops and on road support.
Ride Through Christmas Common: What could get you more in the Christmas spirit than riding through the tiny village of Christmas Common.
Tackle the 4km Pishill Climb: One of the longest climbs in the South East. Not tough but goes on long enough to feel in the legs.
Start Time : From 8.05am
Finish time : By 4pm (avg speed for long route = 23km)
Riders should have water bottles, the route downloaded, suitable clothing & a bike in good condition. Helmets at all times are mandatory. We will email you Covid protocols before the ride depending on the laws and guidelines at the time.
The long route starts between 8am and 8.45am (riders start in groups of 6) so you need to be able to ride the long route at 23km/h to be back by sunset.
The medium route starts between 8.45am and 9,15am so you need to be able to ride the long route at 18km/h to be back by sunset.
During Covid, face masks must be worn at the start and at feed stops. You will start in a group of maximum 6 riders, you must not form groups of more than 6 and you need to keep a safe distance of 2m from each other both on the ride & at feed stops.
We are lucky enough to ride in beautiful places. We have a zero tolerance litter policy – there will be bins at each feed stop so please leave the area as you found it. Please be respectful of local drivers, riders, walkers etc. This is their home, we are just there to ride our bikes. On the ride, look after other cyclists. On narrow lanes & busy sections, don’t ride two a breast. No half wheeling. Take extra caution on the descents. We will run through the major hazards before the ride but it is your responsibility to ride to your level. By signing up for this ride, you need to be in suitable physical shape for the ride.
