Other Information
Race registration: On the morning of the race, from 6.45am in the West Reservoir conference room. You will be given a race number, which will be written on your arm, and you will be given a swim hat - which must be worn for the duration of the swim.
Please ensure you have registered at least 30 minutes before your race time.
Race briefing: Race briefings will take place 15 minutes before your start time, in the Tower Room – this is the area directly in front of you as you enter the main doors of the reservoir centre. Attendance at the briefing is compulsory. The briefing will inform you of any last minute route changes and safety points. If you have any questions or queries on race day, please ask them at the end of the race briefing.
Race start: A marshal will be on hand for assistance. Late entry into the water may result in a time penalty.
Wetsuits - the water will be cool, maybe 14c. With this in mind wetsuits are highly recommended for all but the hardiest open water veterans.
Swim course: The swim takes place in the West Reservoir. The swim is in a loop. The 750m race completes one lap, the 1500m completes 2 laps, and 3000m is 4 laps. There will be eight buoys clearly marking the route.
Finish Line: Fix will be on hand to offer some well-earned massage - there are plenty of treats to collect too!
Medical: Please contact a race marshal or the on-site medical team as soon as possible with any medical concerns. If you feel unwell, do not race.
Results and timings: Your race time will be available as soon as possible after the race at www.capitaltri.com Prizes will be given once the final race has finished.
Spectators: Spectators are welcome. There is a cafe on-site offering refreshments.
