Organiser's Description

Half Iron distance triathlon in Marlow and the surrounding countryside. A swim in the River Thames, undulating but fast bike leg, and finally a fast, almost flat run on tarmac and grass footpaths and the River Thames towpath. This event is the only long distance triathlon in the Thames Valley and will see record numbers of participants race against the clock to cross the line before the cut off.

Course Details

The swim is a 1900 metre one lap course in the River Thames and is designed to make even the weakest swimmer get a fast swim split.

The Bike course is 85.6km with a very popular 3 Lap course on the far end of the route.

The Run is 4 laps of 5km route on Tarmac and Grass Footpaths and meanders back towards Marlow and into the finish at Higginson Park from the river tow path.

Wetsuit Rules

All the triathlon events are operated under the guidelines of the British Triathlon Federation, which is the governing body for triathlon the UK.

99% of the time, wetsuits have to be worn for this event due to the temperature of the water, generally in the UK and Thames Valley most of the water is between 14 degree Celsius & 22 degrees Celsius. The temperature of the water is always taken at least one hour before an event to determine if wetsuits must be worn.

SUNDAY - RACE DAY
05:00 - 06:15: Transition & Bike Racking Open (SUNDAY ONLY)
06:15: All Athlete’s Event Briefing
06:30: All Half Iron Distance Athletes Start

Circa 12:00am - Prize Presentation

3:30/3:45pm - Event Cut Off Time

COURSE CUT OFF TIMES
Swim (1.9km) - 1 hour 10 minutes after your wave start
Bike (86km) - 5 hours 30 minutes after your wave start
Run (20km) - 8 hours 30 minutes after your wave start

Parking

Parking will available on the football pitch behind the cricket ground/sports centre for a fee of £5 per car.

Alternative parking is available in the public car park, next to Higginson Park Leisure Centre.

All of F3 Events Triathlon Events are organised and delivered using the British Triathlon Federation Rules. All Participants are to abide and must take part under these Rules and Regulations.
