The Peak District 100, 50 & 33

Castleton, Hope Valley, Derbyshire

Castleton, Hope Valley, UK

Sat 31st August 2019

Organiser's Description

This new event will take participants on a truly spectacular tour of the UK’s original National Park. It will be a real showcase for the stunning views, diverse landscapes and rich history the Peak District has to offer. With plenty of elevation gain, three courses offer a significant challenge for participants at all levels, while also having plenty of runnable terrain.

The 100 mile event is aimed at strong ultra runners with previous trail/mountain experience, and the ability to complete the distance within a 36 hour limit. It brings the classic ‘century’ to the Peak District for the first time, something that this trail running oasis has been crying out for. With 50 miles in the Dark Peak and 50 miles in the White Peak, it provides an epic tour of the wonderful and varied landscapes of the UK’s original national park.

The half century 50 mile event shares the second half of the 100 miler and is a real classic. And although the shortest option, the third of a century route still provides a great tour of many of the Peak District's classic views and landscapes. Both distances are designed to appeal to a wide range of runners and hikers. The generous time limit of 22 hours for both courses makes them suitable for all paces, and also those new to ultra distance.
