There are a number of steps we are planning to implement in order to ensure that all our runners, volunteers and other members of public are kept as safe as possible and to minimise risks. These are based upon current government guidance which may change between now and race when we re-open our events. We will refine these steps over the coming weeks based upon changing guidance and feedback.
Should the government Coronavirus alert levels for the UK increase, or should local lockdown measures be implemented for any of our events and these are not able to take place we will then change this event to a virtual challenge.
We will continually evaluate the information provided by the government on the lead up to your event and hopefully we will be able to deliver your live run challenge. We want to communicate these measures to you in advance of the event to ensure that everyone is prepared before race day and that appropriate social distancing is adhered to, before, during and after the race.
The entire race will safely take place outdoors, including the starting area, aid stations and finish area. As such, the risk of transmission associated with the event is already greatly reduced.
Runners and volunteers should not turn up at the event if they have; A fever of ≥38°C on the day of the event; Had any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days. Such as a new continuous cough, fever, change/loss of taste/smell; Been in contact with anyone who is sick in the past 14 days;Travelled within the past 14 days to any international location with widespread ongoing local COVID-19 transmission. Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 up to 7 days after the event should report it to the race organiser and we will email everyone who attended so they can make the choice to isolate or test; High risk individuals or anyone quarantining from travel abroad are advised not to attend the event; All volunteers to be provided with face masks which are optional to wear at outdoor events, Nitrile gloves and hand sanitiser; Spectators / supporters are kindly asked if attending the event to not congregrate in the event hub but to watch from around the course to help keep everyone spread out; Runners should consider their safety and the safety of others when travelling to and from the event. Ideally getting someone from their household to drive them, or if using public transport, ensuring that they are following the advice of the operator concerning distancing and face covering.
The weeks leading up to the race
Final instructions will be emailed to runners a week before the race; Race briefing will be provided by video in advance of the race; Race numbers with an attached timing chip will be posted to runners. If entrants do not receive this 2 days out from the event they should get in contact with us; Registration
There will be no on the day registrations. Toilets will be available at the event. Bag drop will be available however all bags must be labelled and placed in bag storage by the runners and then collected by the same runner. Staff will oversee bag storage but will not handle any items.
Runners will be expected to turn up at the race start with their running numbers attached and visible, and ready to start when instructed by the team; Rolling start – We will have a staggered start for all events. Group sizes and stagger times will be confirmed as soon as we have more information from the government on event allocations.
Runners will be advised to wear a face covering (however it's not enforced at outdoor events) before and after the race and when within the event hub (e.g. Buff, neck gaiter, face mask). The face covering does not have to be worn whilst running between aid stations; Hand sanitiser will be available at the start and finish of the event. Appropriate social distancing should be respected within the event hub and also when on the run. This applies to respecting all other runners and park users. Water will be available at the event hub and runners will be expected to fill their own bottles. All runners must carry their own bottles / bladders i.e camel backs. Volunteers at the water stations will be continually sanitising surfaces touched by the runners.
Toilets will be available at the finish area. If they are not available due to restrictions at the venue, suitable local alternatives will be found. Runners will be encouraged to depart the finish area as soon as possible after completing the race. Medals will be laid out on tables for collection by successful runners. Trophies or winners prizes will be handed out promptly rather than at an award ceremony.
The medical team will be located at the start and finish location so they can observe people entering and leaving for monitoring purposes, but will only get involved if they see an issue. The medical team will wear face masks and gloves (as usual) and we will require runners to wear a face mask when we are interacting with them in close proximity and also require them to use gel sanitiser. Refusal to wear a mask or sanitise means the runner won’t be treated unless there is an urgent requirement to treat something serious. Anyone exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms should not attend. If anyone exhibits symptoms at the event they can be asked to leave at the discretion of the medical team via the race director.
It is vital that we adhere to government guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone involved with the race. It goes without saying that any runners who are feeling unwell in the weeks leading up to the event should not be running the race. Here's to bringing live events back and to seeing you all soon. We will make sure we create a safe but fun and super friendly environment for all!

ARRIVAL AND REGISTRATION
Our Peterborough 5k and 10k Winter Warmer Run starts at 10am
Registration will be open from 8.00am and will close at 9.50am so please arrive nice and early.
PLEASE NOTE you will collect your race pack at registration on the day of the event.
Race information will be sent by email pre-event and all your race details can be found within your online profile. Once registered login to check race updates, news, partner offers and more.
You will be using our Chip on Bib race numbers and it is important these are displayed on your outer garment to ensure 1) We can see your race number when running and 2) To help with the timing system to read your time.
Bag storage is available at the event however space is limited so travel as lightly as possible.
Toilets will be within the event hub and ensure you go with plenty of time to spare to avoid long queues.
Coffee and snacks will be available for sale within the event hub.
The run will kick off at 10am.
There will be marshals around the course to support and encourage you.
Please take care when running around the course as this is public land and local residents will be out and about. Please always stay on the left unless otherwise guided.
If wearing headphones please make sure you can hear other people around you and marshal instructions.
AFTER THE EVENT
Everyone will receive a medal and there are also a few trophies that are up for grabs.
Results will be displayed on our Results Base Timing screen so after crossing the finish line you can check out your instant results.
These go live to our website and you will receive an email update once the race is over.
Drinks and sweets will be available at the finish line along with any other goodies from our event partners.
How To Get There
Best postcode to use is PE2 5UR. This will take you to the Ferry Meadows Car Park.
Parking charges are now in place at Nene Park Trust car parks at Ferry Meadows, Orton Meadows and Thorpe Meadows. Approximately £5 for 4 hours, please take notice of parking information upoin arrival.
The Nene Valley Railway is one of the best known standard gauge steam preservation railways in the country and home to that very special engine, Thomas. The railway runs between Wansford and Peterborough with two stations in Nene Park at Ferry Meadows and Orton Mere

There are bus stops within walking distance of Ferry Meadows on Oundle Road and on Wistow Way in Orton Wistow. Both are a 15 to 20-minute walk from the Visitor Information Centre and Gift Shop.
When do I receive my race pack?
We email you your race number and details and this also goes on the website prior to the event so you can search if you haven’t received your email for any reason. You then collect your race packs at registration on the morning of the event.
How do I know I am registered?
You will receive an email confirming your entry. If a friend or colleague has entered as long as they have used your email address in the entry you will receive confirmation.
Will I receive race information in the lead up to my event?
Yes we send out email updates prior to your event and you can view all event details, news and offers by logging in to your user profile.
Will I be chipped timed?
Yes all our events (unless otherwise stated) are chip timed! In most cases you will use our disposable race chips. You need to ensure you put these on correctly on your shoe (race instructions will be given via email and this info is on your event information page on your event page).
Can I find the race number list prior to the event?
Yes, your event race list will be online approximately a week prior to your event. Please make a note of your race number and that of friends as you will collect your race pack on the morning of the run.
What happens if I don't receive my race email?
If you don’t receive your race email it may be because the wrong email address was inputted or the race email went in to your junk mail so please check carefully. All information will can be found by logging in to your user profile and your race number will show within this account area.
Can I Enter a team?
Absolutely! Get as many friends, family or colleagues together and run as a team. You are not required to run together and each person will receive their own time however it's just fun to run under a team name.
Can I run with a buggy?
Yes this is typically ok for most locations however please check the run route course as some locations can be a mix of path, trail, grass so not always suitable for running with a buggy. Also please try and stay to the left as much as possible to give room for other runners.
Can I volunteer to marshal at the event?
Absolutely! If you miss out on a place or just want to help out on the day and marshal that would be great. You would be there to support and encourage all entrants. Contact us by filling the form to express your interest. We would welcome you to join our team.
The Fix Events refund policy is: Up to 14 days before the event you can either (i) cancel and receive a 60% refund or (ii) transfer your registration to another Fix Event (£5 transfer fee applies). Alternatively, you can transfer your place to someone else you know who may wish to take part. To do so you must email email@example.com. Unfortunately, after that, we cannot give refunds or transfer your entry to another event.
