The Third Nut Sportive

Brecon, Powys

Brecon Leisure Centre, Brecon, UK

Sun 5th May 2019

Organiser's Description

An early season 110 mile or 65 mile ride starting and finishing at Brecon Leisure Centre, with the backdrop of the Brecon Beacons. Both routes head out of Brecon following the A470 for a short while, before crossing over the River Wye and up through Clyro to loop Kington. From here they head out on the Rhayader road before turning off towards Hundred House and Builth Wells, where the long and short routes split.

The short route then heads South back towards Brecon through lovely countryside, and includes the Tour of Britain K.O.M climb at Cwm Owen. The long route heads West from Builth to Llanwrtyd Wells, before turning off and following the River Irfon, heading up into the hills and the infamous Devils staircase. It then follows the reservoir back to Llandover through Trecastle, Sennybridge and back into Brecon.
