Fun, but maybe not for first-time out of towners. I ran the Thetford Iceni 10k as my first ever 10k and, as such, was a little nervous. The description made it sound like a simple out-and-back trail run, so as an out-of-towner I was looking forward to a simple route. It turned out to be a bit more complex, and there seemed to be an assumption by the organisers that the runners would know the area. I did not, and I ended up having to shout questions at marshals and getting lost a couple of times when the directional arrows disappeared. All of that aside, the marshals and the other runners were really helpful and nice, making it a really fun run. Route-wise it was fairly circuitous and there was a lot of roadside running, but a narrow, uneven trail down by the river was a real highlight for me - very pretty! I'd recommend it for the casual, friendly atmosphere, but maybe not for newbies who get easily lost!
