Trail Run For Women

Aldbury, Hertfordshire

Aldbury, UK

Sun 2nd August 2020

Organiser's Description

Run the Wild prides itself for being inclusive to all runners. Over the years we have met hundreds of runners of assorted ages, gender, size, and of course ability. We love sharing our passion for running, and watching others discover its benefits for the body and mind and also the freedom it offers. Our reward comes from watching runners catch the trail running bug, and achieving goals they didn't think possible either because of concerns about ability or confidence.

We offer a safe and supporting environment for women to step into exercise and feel great, and because we have found that sometimes women can feel shy and nervous about joining new running clubs, we felt it important to launch our first women’s only run last winter. Due to its success and popularity we are continuing to offer regular women's only trail runs, great for regular runners and also those who are new to trails. Each event will follow a different route, providing new running adventures for those who have already taken part previously.

So, join us for a ladies only 8km guided run through the beautiful woods and open ridgelines of the Chiltern Hills! Along the way you will learn trail running techniques and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, famous for its use in filming locations.

You will need to arrange your own transport to the start of the adventure in Aldbury, but there are regular trains from London Euston to Tring Station which take around 40 minutes and is only a short walk to the meeting point.

There is also an onsite free car park should you prefer to drive. Accommodation is available nearby, please get in touch if you would like any recommendations.

Ability

We will group participants by their ability but you need to be able to run 5km. It's a great event for those new to trail running as well as veterans! The Lead Runner will route find and as all with our expeditions you will be expected to run as part of the team. First time trail runners welcome!

Timing & Location

The event will start at 8.45am, at the Musette's, Aldbury which has free parking and is walking distance from Tring Station with direct train connections to London Euston. The event will finish around 10.30am (full details in your booking pack).

Run Details

We will start each run at the Musette Cafe, based in the quintessentially English village of Aldbury.

All our female guides are all experienced run leaders who not only route find and set the pace, but will also enlighten you on the surrounding area.

When not running they can often be seen sipping coffee at Musette's. We will end the run back at the cafe which is a great place to get a post run coffee, smoothie or a freshly cooked trail runners' breakfast!
