World Mental Health Day Virtual Challenge

United Kingdom

Sun 10th October 2021

Organiser's Description

1 in 4 people suffers from a mental health problem in the UK every year. Mental health such as anxiety and depression can lead to other issues such as alcohol and drug addiction, self-harm, and even suicide.

It has been proven that exercise such as running, walking, and jogging can help relieve some of the strains and struggles of mental health issues. That’s why we invite you to be a part of this virtual challenge to support and spread awareness of this condition.

Run, walk or jog any distance, anywhere on World Mental Health Day (10th October 2021).

Distances accepted: 1k, 5k, 10k, 10 miles, half marathon, full marathon, ultra. We also accept treadmill activities.

£2 of every fee will be donated to a mental health charity.

HOW DO I SEND MY EVIDENCE?
Upon completing our Farewell Run 2021 virtual challenge, simply take a screenshot of your activity from your app. We accept screenshots of your activity from any exercise app such as Garmin, FitBit, Strava, Map My Run, and RunKeeper. You can also take a photo of your results from your exercise watch or treadmill display.

Submit your evidence using our secure submission form at https://the-running-bug.com/submit-your-evidence/

We do accept entries from overseas participants. However, please note that there is an extra charge to cover postage costs and can be selected at checkout. In the event that a resident with a non-UK address purchases a standard UK entry, then we reserve the right to refuse the entry and refund in full.

FAQs

  • What happens if I sign up for this challenge but then can't do it?

No problem. We understand that sometimes life gets in the way of your plans. If you find that you have signed up for one of our races then decide not to participate, we would be happy to defer your place onto another race at the same value. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds unless it is under special circumstances at the discretion of management.

  • How do I send you my evidence?

Submitting your evidence is really easy. Simply take a screenshot of your activity from your mobile and visit our secure submission form at https://the-running-bug.com/submit-your-evidence/ where you can upload your file. This will be emailed to us. We accept evidence from all activity apps including Strava, Garmin, Fitbit, etc. Once you have sent your evidence, you should be redirected to a confirmation page.

  • How long does it take to receive my medal?

Once your medal has been posted, you will receive another email to confirm. We aim to post your medals within 7 days of the conclusion of the event. All medals are sent second class by Royal Mail delivery. Medals sent to an address outside the UK can take longer. We do not take any responsibility for the loss or damage of medals in transit.

  • What happens if I don't receive my medal?

Sometimes items do get damaged or lost in the postal system. Unfortunately, we don’t have any control over this. However, we appreciate this can be frustrating and disappointing not receiving your medal. If in the event that you have not received a medal within 14 days after the event, please contact us with a photo of the damaged medal if appropriate and we will send a replacement medal for free. If in the event we do not have any replacement medals, we would be happy to transfer your place onto another race at no additional charges to you.

  • Do you accept entries outside the UK?

Yes we do. However, please be aware that non-UK entries incur a higher charge to cover extra administrative and postage costs. If a non-UK resident purchases a UK entry, The Running Bug reserves the right to refuse entry.
