YeAABA New Years Day Dook
The tradition of the Dook dates back to 1891 and it has never been cancelled, no matter the weather. In 1989 we had to break the ice in the harbour, with pick axes, to be able to swim!
Over the years participation in the Dook has increased dramatically now attracting over three hundred dookers and three thousand spectators. A full day of music, dancing, and swimming.
